Bric à Brac au Jeff

Hi! I’m Jeff Chapple. Well, not really, I’m a block of type you’re reading created by Jeff Chapple, but we needn’t split semantic hairs at this stage of the game.

Well kids, I’ve been round the block a few times, learning a little here and there. I hope to express a few words of wisdom here, embedded in a rambling diatribe about myself, my culture and my world. I dunno if this will interest anyone, myself included, but I need to let some of this clutter out of my head.

So, brace yourself for an adventure into the mundane, punctuated occasionally with something, dare I say, interesting, perhaps even profound (yeah, right). You be the judge.

The about me (ABOUT-BOX) section is still under construction. The bio is coming along nicely. The photo gallery (PHOTO-GANZA) is pretty much together, being a rehash of what I already had. The blog has some interesting, perhaps controversial content (BLOG-O-TRON). Check it out! And, just about all of my academic papers are up in the PAPER-AZZI section. These all can be reached through the links at the top of the page.

Thanks for visiting and

let me know what you think!

Mr. Spock, Star Trek

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan

A stately pleasure-dome decree:

Where Alph, the sacred river, ran

Through caverns measureless to man

Down to a sunless sea.

Samuel Coleridge:

“Kubla Khan, or a Vision

in a Dream. A Fragment.”

Guest, thou shalt be happy

here, for here happiness is

esteemed the highest good.

Motto at the gate

to the  garden of Epicurus.

All of us are failures; we all die.

John Fowles: The Aristos

I love the great despisers,
because they are
the great adorers
and arrows of longing
for the other shore.
